When life gets boring, look at it from a different view. There are lots of places in Northern California that make you wish you could fly. Whether you enjoy a metropolitan skyline, a waterway or a mountaintop, we've included a lot of them below. Which ones are your favorite? You might want to add them to your summer list.
1. Burney Falls
These gorgeous falls are 118 feet up! How's that for an overlook that can take your breath away? Plus, President Theodore Roosevelt declared this magical area "The eighth wonder of the world."
2. Mt. Tamalpais
Taking friends out for the day? What about this for a view? High atop Mt. Tamalpais you overlook a huge part of Marin County. I'm in!
3. Sonoma Lake
This is one of our favorite overlooks in wine country. You can find this scene on Rockpile Road. Take in the surroundings -- so picturesque. Like something out of a movie, eh?
4. Bay Bridge
Pretty cool shot, right? The photographer snapped this one with their telephoto lens from Treasure Island. Plus, this is the OLD Bay Bridge. Bring back any memories?
5. Little Lakes Valley
The Sierra Nevadas are some of the prettiest views we have in Northern California. Take your pick - we have lakes and waterfalls everywhere. Little Lakes Valley is one of our favorites.
6. Mt. Whitney
14,000 feet up -- that's almost three miles in the sky. This is the view from here. Like heaven.
7. Half Dome
The beauty of Half Dome is right before your eyes. This shot was taken from Glacier Point in Yosemite. One of the prettiest places in the world.
8. Golden Gate Bridge
Open up that Golden Gate! California here I come...
9. Mt. Shasta
Have you ever seen the queen of the mountains from the top looking down? Talk about a vantage point. Here's where you can appreciate an overlook.
10. Half Moon Bay
Who says you need to have an overlook that's all too high? Wildflowers in Half Moon Bay take our breath away from just a few feet above.
11. Pigeon Point Lighthouse
San Mateo is where you can see this view with your own two eyes. For centuries we've been using lighthouses as an overlook to keep sailors safe.
12. Foresthill Bridge
One of the prettiest overlooks in Northern California. An overlook that would make for a great place to propose to your one and only - hint, hint guys!
Enjoying a lovely overlook in Northern California is a pretty easy accomplishment. We have hills and valleys, creeks and rivers and the Pacific Ocean to enjoy from lots of angles!
