China Beach is located in the Sea Cliff area of the city. China Beach is nestled between Baker Beach and Land's End.
The history behind the name China Beach is fascinating. Since gold rush times, many Chinese fisherman worked in and around San Francisco Bay. Their efforts to supply the needs of a young city helped establish San Francisco in many ways.
One of the most wondrous characteristics here is the nature. The rocks hidden behind the cliffs will make you feel like you're in another world.
Check out the the monument to the Chinese fishermen and early residents who camped and anchored in the cove. This is truly a historical spot in San Francisco.
If you want to take a wonderful shot of San Francisco at its best then this is the best beach. The views of the Bay, iconic attractions, and even the fog will dazzle.
The views here are classic San Francisco and California in general because you see the Golden Gate Bridge. Walk around and appreciate the vibe here.
There is a small deck on top of the beach that is an ideal vista point of the Bay, relaxing, sunbathing.
If you walk around China Beach you can spot starfish, anemones, and mussels clinging to the rocky corners of the cliffs.
