Quite literally hidden away in Del Norte County, California, is an astonishingly beautiful secret beach that one can only access by foot. We're not talking about a short-and-sweet hike, either; it's a 7.6-mile out-and-back adventure that leads you to one of the most stunningly beautiful secret beaches in California, and thanks to said hike, it's rarely, if ever, crowded. Embark upon this hidden beach hike in Northern California next time you're feeling adventurous; your heart and soul will surely thank you! Seriously, just look at this place:
The Hidden Beach and False Klamath Trail is within Redwood National Park, and it's quite the trek.
Coming in at nearly eight miles long, it's one incredible journey you will never, ever forget.
Even when the coastline isn't in view, this trail seems like something out of a tropical paradise, with intensely lush, green forest completely enveloping you everywhere you happen to glance.
The trail is rated as moderately challenging, so expect some inclines and tougher spots here and there. We promise, though - it is SO worth it.
Seriously, we would totally break a sweat for views like this.
Thanks to the lengthy nature of the ONLY way to access this secret beach, there are seldom many other folks around. It'll be just you, anyone you came with, and the exclusive club of hikers daring enough to complete this one.
It's so beautiful that it's borderline obscene.
This is one of those places where words seldom do enough to express the awe you'll feel upon your first sight of the beach.
Given that the hike is long and can be tiring, you should definitely plan on spending at least an entire day here.
If you do, you'll be rewarded with a glimpse at heaven via the sunset over the cove, casting golden light over everything and looking like something out of a fantasy novel more than your own backyard.
The Hidden Beach and False Klamath Trail is one you will never forget.
There's something about cotton candy sunsets reflected by crystal-clear water that quiets the soul and reminds us to take a deep breath (or several). There's something better still about enjoying that sunset with nobody else around.
