1. Tanaka Farms in Irvine

Tanaka Farms is all about responsible farming and focuses on using Responsible Farming Methods to produce fruits and veggies that are grown without chemicals.

A trip to this farm is perfect for a day of berry picking with the family or taking a free wagon ride to check out the lush, green surroundings.

2. Farm Sanctuary in Acton, CA

45 minutes outside the hustle and bustle of Los Angeles, you will find this 26-acre farm that serves as a sanctuary for rescued farm animals. The farm offers tours on Saturdays and Sundays so make sure to sign up to see this farm in action as it is an incredibly heart warming experience.

3. McGrath Family Farm in Camarillo

A certified organic family farm in Ventura County that believes in the value of bringing fresh, seasonal produce to the community. Spend a day at the farm picking your own produce or pick up a few things at the onsite farmers market to take home.

4. San Diego Golden Hop Farm in Fallbrook

This quaint farm grows hops for the local craft beer industry. You can support this local farm and feel good about drinking a nice, cold brew to support the farmers. In addition to growing and selling hops, this farm also hosts harvest parties and Agri-tours. Sounds like a fun place to hang out in the country.

5. Willowbrook Apple Farm

This old fashioned farm is only an hour outside Los Angeles and Orange County. You'll have to wait for the fall for Willowbrook to open, but those juicy looking apples are well worth the wait. Not only can you pick your own apples, but you can make your own apple cider while you're there. Yum!

6. Providence Cherry Farm in Beaumont

Look at the gorgeous cherry trees in bloom. Just one of the many things you will enjoy at this organic orchard in Beaumont.

7. Hidden Haven Farms in Jamul

Going to Hidden Haven Farms is like stepping back into the past. Become one with the farm and learn how to do activities like beekeeping, milking a cow or riding a horse, as part of their special programs and services that introduce farm life to the general public.

8. Underwood Family Farms in Moorpark

Spend a day at the farm and pick your own fruit and veggies, shop at the onsite farmers market, or take a guided farm tour to learn more about the farm lifestyle.

9. Suzie's Farms

Please note, Suzie's Farms is no longer in business. There are 70-acres to enjoy at this family owned organic farm 17-miles south of San Diego near Tijuana. The farm hosts festive activities all year long to bring the community together. This coming weekend, on April 30th, is the final Saturday to enjoy Strawberry Jam -- a U-pick event where you get to pick your own strawberries.

10. M&M Peach Ranch in Lake Hughes

Add peach picking to your farm tour, which begins in August, and pluck fresh peaches off the trees at this organic peach farm in Lake Hughes.
