There's no doubt in my mind that Arkansas has earned its name as the Natural State. After all, we have millions of acres of forests and over 2,000 lakes. Not to mention our 52 state parks, many offering tons of water recreation. One of which is Village Creek State Park, where there is not one, but two major lakes as well as a few small ponds and a stream. So, of course, this scenic state park in Arkansas belongs on your bucket list.

Boasting over 7,000 acres of picturesque hardwood forests, 33 miles of multi-use trails, an equestrian campground, a 27-hole championship golf course, tennis courts, and more, it's easy to see why you must visit Village Creek State Park.

Tucked inside Crowley's Ridge in Wynne Arkansas, this scenic park is home to the historical Old Military Road Trail, which was a popular route during the Trail of Tears. Be sure to take some time to explore the hiking trails.

As you can see the park has historic significance and is jam-packed with lots of recreational opportunities. And that is especially true since it's one of the only state parks in Arkansas boasting multiple lakes as well as other waterways.

Lake Dunn and Lake Austell are both under 100-acres, but don't let the size fool you. Both lakes are known for having some of the largest catfish, bass, and crappy in Arkansas. If you love fishing, swimming, kayaking, boating or simply spending a lazy day floating on the water, then this state park is for you.

Rent a water vessel at Lake Dunn to explore the serene lakes while basking in their breathtaking vistas. While the lakes offer swimming beaches, picnic areas, playgrounds, and more, Lake Dunn is for campers only and Lake Austell is open to the public for day use.

Sitting on the banks of a lake holding a line with your buddies or your family is pure bliss. And you'll have plenty of opportunity to enjoy these peaceful moments inside Village Creek.

As you explore the park, you'll discover lots of scenic spots that are great for relaxing and listening to the melodious sounds of nature. There is also a small stream that runs through the park from which Village Creek got its name.

If you're a golfer, take a break from the putting green to explore the tiny ponds around the course. There's so much to do and see inside Village Creek, that you can't possibly conquer it all in one day.

So, I recommend that you spend the night at this picturesque park in Arkansas and wake up and do it all over again. Village Creek is a true hidden gem, and after your visit, you'll want to return again and again.
