Celebrate the coming of spring with a magical trip to Moss Mountain Farm. The entire farm feels like something from a fairy tale but their Daffodil Hill is particularly captivating in the springtime. This hill features over 400,000 beautiful blooming daffodils! Let's take a colorful tour of this stunning Arkansas farm:
Moss Mountain Farm looks like a scene from a movie, and its just about as magical!
This beautiful property consists of gardens, a farm, and mansion on 650 acres. Moss Mountain is near the banks of the Arkansas River in Roland.
It may not be a movie but the owner and farm are TV stars.
Moss Mountain Farm and Garden Home is owned by P. Allen Smith. If the name sounds familiar it's because he has three award-winning shows: Garden Home , Garden to Table, and Garden Style. In addition to the shows, Smith also tours as a public speaker and has written numerous books.
The entire farm is stunning but we're focused on one particular hill this spring.
Near the farm's cottage is an enchanting spot called Daffodil Hill. The hill explodes with flower power during the spring with thousands of daffodils.
There's more than just your typical trumpet daffodils on this sunny hill.
Over 25 varieties of daffodils are planted each year which yields over 400,000 beautiful blooms! Did you know there are officially 13 different classifications of daffodils? Each of these classifications has about a thousand varieties with endless combinations of color, size, and shape.
The hill's hue stays pretty golden in the spring but those aren't the only colors to spy in the flower field.
In addition to the yellows we're used to seeing, Daffodil Hill also has oranges, creams, golds, tangerine. It's quite the rainbow once you start looking at all the different varieties!
Simply take a stroll through the field or have a whole wedding here.
Public tours will begin around March and go through the end of June. Lunch tours include a tour of the 3-story Garden Home, "Poultryville," and the farm's gardens. You'll also be treated to a farm-to-table lunch featuring a seasonal recipe from P. Allen Smith’s latest book!
