Part of my goal here is to hunt for hidden gems in Arkansas and tell you guys about them. And as you already know, the Natural State has lots of places yet to be explored by the masses. These little-known destinations in Arkansas are oftentimes tucked inside our small towns waiting for us to explore them. That is especially true for Pivot Rock Park in Eureka Springs. This lesser-known site features fascinating rock formations, and legend has it, it was used by gangs as a hideout back in the days. I don’t know about you but count me in because I’m ready to explore this hidden gem in Arkansas to uncover all its buried secrets.
Tucked away in the secluded Ozark Mountains in Eureka Springs is Pivot Rock Park. This tiny, lesser-known attraction is one that you wanna explore at least once.
Open seasonally from March to October, this attraction features unique stacked rock formations as well as natural geological formations.
There is a tiny fee to access the park that can be paid at the gift shop onsite. While you're there, be sure to also check out the unique items inside the gift shop.
Nature enthusiasts will love the pretty views of the area. It's surrounded by gorgeous trails and features a charming gazebo that overlooks Lake Leatherwood.
Also, there is a flowing waterfall that adds to the beauty of the scenic region. So, bring your hiking boots to explore the picturesque trails and discover the secrets that lie within.
The best part about this attraction is that you get to explore two incredible rock formations all at once. The Natural Bridge is great for taking creative pics for your collection.
Moreover, you can view the geological structure from different vantage points, so you'll have ample photo ops.
Of course, the crown jewel is Pivot Rock, which looks like an upside-down pyramid-shaped rock with natural grooves that's sitting on a small base that barely looks like it could support the structure.
With multiple features in Ripley's Believe It or Not, this odd, century old rock formation has gained lots of notoriety over the years and it's unlike anything that you've seen.
At over 10 feet high, this natural wonder is truly a sight to behold. And if the legends are true, Jesse James' gang chose a great spot as their hideout.
Aside from the 2 main geological phenomena, you'll love the rock garden that features rock cairns of all sizes, some were built by previous guests.
Feel free to build one of your own, this would be a fun activity if you're traveling with kids.
There are also vintage wagons as well as other old equipment that are scattered throughout the area. For such a small roadside attraction, there is so much to do and see.
So, the next time you're in the area, stop in and explore Pivot Rock Park, a lesser-known hidden gem in Arkansas.
