Christmas is a magical time of year. If you're seeking the best winter hike in Arkansas, then be sure to visit the dazzling annual Holiday Lights event at the Garvan Woodland Gardens in Hot Springs. Grab the family and pack a jacket for this winter walk through 18 acres of dazzling light displays. Let's take a scroll through some of the features around the gardens.
The Garden of Pine Wind will be the first area along this delightful Christmas light hike in Arkansas.
The four acres of this garden will have all sorts of nifty displays including these blue and white trees scattered throughout.
All of the features within the gardens will be decked out for the light tour.
The koi pond will be lit up with over sized balls and a mystical creature can be spotted from the shore.
Next along the light tour will be the Rose Tree.
This massive 50-foot-tall display will have a 12-minute animated light show.
All sorts of creatures will be at the Gardens for the festivities...
Sasquatch came to Gardens in 2014 as part of the Mystic Creatures Topiary event.
...including a sea serpent!
Roderick the Sea Serpent was also part of the Mystic Creatures event. He was designed by students from the Fay Jones School of Architecture + Design Landscape Architecture Program.
The Gardens' Fairy Village is also celebrating the holidays.
The little houses along the fairy trail will be lit and giant mushrooms will lead up to the fairy pavilion.
One of the newest displays is the Ice Dandelion area.
Using a new light technology called "color blossoms," dandelion seeds will be blown into the wind accompanied by a light and sound show.
After completing the best winter hike in Arkansas, head to the Gardens' Magnolia Room that's been transformed into a Christmas Village.
The room features over 40 Department 56 village pieces. The displays set up around a massive Christmas tree will include an elf spa, eggnog pub, and reindeer flight school.
