Don't you just love finding little gems along your drive? About 60 miles north of Conway is the town of Leslie. Just outside of this little unassuming town is the most delicious pastry shop you could ever find. Let's venture into the woods and treat ourselves to all the goodies Serenity Farm Bread has to offer.
Did you know there's a little cottage hiding in the middle of Arkansas that's filled with delicious pastries?
We assure you it's not just a page from a fairy tale.
Just outside the tiny town of Leslie resides the pastry shop, Serenity Farm Bread.
Let's see what goodies the shop offers.
It's hard to go wrong with a cookie or three.
How could you ever choose between their oatmeal raisin, gingerbread with walnuts, or the chocolate chip with almonds? It's definitely best to try every flavor.
Of course, the pastry selection is downright delectable.
The creamy cheese danishes, sticky buns, chocolate eclairs, tarts and more will have you completely indecisive.
Not to mention the cakes!
Blueberry cheesecake, chocolate truffle and Italian cream are just some of the teasers off the menu.
After you've settled on your treat, you can retreat to the cottage's wraparound porch.
The 1900s Sears kit house offers lovely views of Cove Creek and the tranquil Ozark forest.
The pastry shop also has all sorts of goodies to peruse.
They have a variety of teas, gourmet foods, coffees, oils, spreads and more.
For wider variety of local goods, and even more food, you can visit their bakery in town.
They're located at on the corner of Main Street and Hwy 66 E at 423 Main Street in Leslie.
Although the bakery doesn't have quite the fairy tale appeal like the pastry shop, it does have its own magic.
That magic resides in the wood-fired brick oven. The sizable 6-ft. by 8-ft. oven holds a wheelbarrow load of hardwood and a load of sourdough loaves.
The oven baked sourdough loaves are the foundation for the bakery's mouthwatering lunch specials.
Soups, salads and sandwiches are all made with locally grown ingredients.
No matter if you choose the bakery or the pastry shop, Serenity Farm Bread is well worth the drive.
The pastry shop is located at 805 US 65S just 1/2 mile south of Leslie.
