The park opened in 2014 after the City of Siloam Springs received a grant from the Walton Family Foundation.
This engineering undertaking modified the original flow of the river to have a series of whitewater rapids as well as "standing waves" for paddlers and floaters.
The modified Illinois River watershed is great for kayaks, tubes, and canoes.
Besides rafting, feel free to take advantage of the swimming holes built along the river.
The whole area is picture perfect for a picnic. Relax on the banks and enjoy watching the pros.
Just be sure to take water safety precautions.
The Siloam Springs Police Department does patrol the area but there are no full-time employees or lifeguards on duty.
Perhaps the best thing about the park is that it's free!
