We all know and love Garvan Woodland Gardens in Hot Springs. The University of Arkansas' botanical garden is one of the most popular attractions in the entire state. The masses tend to visit during the spring blooms and again during the holidays. Although these are both excellent times to see the gardens you should never underestimate the beauty of fall here. Let's take an autumn stroll through Garvan and see what seasonal treats await.
The springtime tulips aren't the only time to visit Garvan Woodland Gardens.
Spring and Christmas are perfectly fine times to see the gardens but don't forget about the stunning foliage of fall! What may be considered an "off season" is still a perfectly gorgeous time to plan a day trip.
Some of the attractions are year-round but have a fun flair for fall.
The playground and fairy garden are both a little spooky for the season. As the trees begin to change color you can climb to the top of the garden's tree house for a bird's eye view of the jaw-dropping foliage.
Garvan will be hosting different photography classes that tour through these parts of the garden. Any skill level is welcome, too! For more information on that and other upcoming fall events, head here.
Instead of tiptoeing through the tulips you'll be mincing through the mums.
The garden features thousands of chrysanthemums blooms during October and November. Other peaked pretties are
camellias, roses, pyracantha, and beautyberries (pyracantha).
The experience gets even more colorful as the trees begin to turn.
The fall foliage is expected to peak during the first half of November. In addition to the oranges and yellows, you can also expect deep reds from the garden's Japanese maples.
Find a whole new level of peace while surrounding yourself in fall flora at the gardens.
The cool weather, autumn colors, and calmer crowds all add to the gorgeous experience at Garvan Woodland Gardens. Plan your fall visit any day between 9 am - 6 pm. For ticket information visit their website. Or follow their Facebook Page for more stunning photos!
