December in Arkansas means that the festive hustle and bustle has arrived. You may drive through one of these light displays or plan a getaway at this cozy glampground; however, the holiday fun isn't over until you've taken a walk through this garden light show. Arkansas is filled with wintry activities, but the Garvan Woodland Gardens Christmas lights is one of our favorite holiday traditions. Let's take a peek at this beautifully bedazzled botanical garden and see why these are some of the best Christmas lights in Arkansas.
The most beloved outdoor light show is positively beaming every holiday season.
Every year the Garvan Woodland Gardens transforms from its kaleidoscopic flora to a dazzling array of lights. The 210-acre garden is enveloped in over five million lights!
Each garden has a different theme that gives a glowing otherworldly experience.
Some of the gardens are simply enhanced with blankets of lights while others will have dragons, towering holiday characters, and musical light shows.
Pointing out snowmen and nutcrackers is fun but the ice tunnel and other lit paths make this experience incredibly enchanting.
The scenes are certainly photo-worthy but we love any chance to be immersed in Christmas lights! Stay merry during your walk with a free cup of hot chocolate or tuck into some snacks at the garden's Chipmunk Cafe.
Many of the displays play off of the garden's typical floral scenes, but with even bolder and brighter execution.
The frog pond is filled with oversized flowers, butterflies, and critters that will delight any age. One of our other favorite nature-inspired scenes is the ice dandelion meadow. It's a field filled with LED bulbs that gradually change colors for a very calming, yet magical experience.
But you'll also find dragons, dolphins, jellyfish, peacocks, and so much more. Plus traditional Christmas scenes!
And the paths through the trees... wow! It's ethereal and magical all in one. Time your visit just right, and you might even be able to catch a sunset too. How much dreamier can Christmas lights get??
The garden light show typically opens the end of November and runs until the end of December, so be sure to pay a visit during those limited weeks!
Open every day except Christmas, ticket prices vary and are limited nightly - so make sure you book your tickets early! To learn more about the display or to purchase passes for the whole family, visit the Garvan Woodland Gardens website.
