From persimmons to persistence joint aches, Arkansans have some interesting ways to predict the weather. According to the Farmer's Almanac, our winter season is predicted to be fairly mild. Let's look at the upcoming months to see how what season will bring.
Arkansas has had its fair share of intense winter storms but this year is predicted to be milder than most.
The Farmer's Almanac has predicted this year to be "wet and wild" in our region so bear in mind that although the season will be warmer overall, you can still expect Arkansas' wacky weather to change at a moment's notice.
The weather should stay about as mild as it is currently.
It's surprising how mild this August has been but you can thank the rains for that. September and October will continue to cool down but be warmer than in years past.
Be sure to take advantage of the waterfalls in full force during October to early November.
The upside to all of this predicted rain is that the Natural State's waterfalls will be simply breathtaking. The colorful leaves paired with the full falls will be a photographer's paradise.
The end of November to the first half of December will be the coldest portion of the season.
Chilly and wet doesn't sound very pleasant but it certainly beats rampant ice storms.
Unfortunately we may not have much of a white Christmas.
Arkansans are used to the slushy holiday season and we certainly take pride in keeping up spirits regardless.
It may not be the prettiest of seasons, but at least we can avoid a harsh winter.
