Even though school is just around the corner, there's still time to take a few more family adventures. One hike that's fantastic any time of the year is the kid-friendly Falls Branch Trail. The trail is particularly great for an end-of-summer trip since the waterfall-fed pool is the perfect swimming temperature. Let's pack the snacks and tighten our buckle carriers as we take on this simply hike.

Since there's still a few weeks left until school begins, a family-friendly hike is just the thing to ward off the end-of-summer-vacation blues.
One particular hike along Lake Catherine State Park is great for every skill level.
The Falls Branch Trail is a moderate 1.6-mile loop. The state park is located at 1200 Catherine Park Rd., Hot Springs, AR 71913.
The trail features plenty of little activities to keep kids interested.
It's not uncommon to spot all sorts of wildlife, including deer along the trail. Aspiring scientists will enjoy finding small critters and tadpoles in Falls Creek.
There's also a wooden foot bridge for small adventurers to cross.
The Falls Branch Trail bridge has been proudly troll-free since the 1930s.
The trail is family friendly but does have some elevation changes.
Little legs may need help climbing the stone steps.
The main feature of the trail is the lovely Falls Branch Falls.
It's best to visit after a good summer rain to see the falls in full force.
The waterfall-fed pool is the perfect place for a refreshing break.
This summertime adventure wouldn't be complete without a bit of wading and a picnic.
