You don't need to take a multi-mile hike to see Arkansas' stunning nature. City Rock Bluff showcases a spectacular view of the White River. Let's take a relaxing drive to Calico Rock and stand atop the bluffs for a million dollar view.
Calico Rock is known for being the nation's town with its own ghost town but that's not the only reason to visit.
This town-within-a-town in northern Arkansas isn't just rich in history. It has some spectacular views too! You can learn more about the ghost town, Peppersauce, by reading this article.
After you've explored the town, you'll want to head to this particularly gorgeous bluff.
City Rock Bluff is one of the most beautiful overlooks in the state, especially within city limits. One spot along the calico-colored bluffs used to be a Native American lookout as well as trading point for settlers. Today it's a splendid spot to photograph and take the fam.
This will be the easiest "hike" your family takes!
This is one of those park-and-your-here overlooks. As always, be mindful of children (and adults for that matter) around the bluffs.
It doesn't matter what time you visit the bluffs, there's always an Instagram-worthy scene to capture.
Visit City Rock Bluff for a sunrise yoga session, pack a picnic for lunch, or just sit and watch the White River flow by. The sunsets are absolutely fire as well!
It may not be a rugged hike through the forest, but City Rock Bluff is an enchanting Arkansas view nonetheless.
It's one of the stops along this scenic drive. Take the drive to turn your quick photo stop into a full tour! For more footage of the bluff, check out this drone video:
