1. White Rock Mountain (Winslow)
The highlight of White Rock Mountain Recreation Area, White Rock Mountain stands at 2,309 feet above sea level. The mountain is the hub of several trail systems, which means it offers access to hundreds of miles of trails. Try to plan your visit accordingly – the sunset views can’t be beat! 2. Flatside Pinnacle (near Perryville)
There’s no better way to end a hike than with a picturesque view. If you agree, you’ve got to visit Flatside Pinnacle, a 1,550-foot rock outcrop. The hike to the top is short, but steep. Your effort won’t be in vain, though. The vistas are spectacular, and depending on who you ask, the best sunset views in the Ouachita Mountains. For more information, click here.
3. Sam’s Throne Recreation Area (near Mt. Judea)
Though Sam’s Throne Recreation Area is most known as a rock climbing site, it’s also a top spot for hiking, photography, and camping. A 2.6-mile loop trail leads winds around the foot of the area’s namesake bluff, Sam’s Throne, before coming to an end at a scenic lookout point. For more information, click

4. Indian Creek and Tunnel Cave Falls (Jasper)
When it comes to natural wonders, Indian Creek Trail doesn’t disappoint! Not the easiest trail, it’s going to require some effort on your part. However, as you trek along the 5.4-mile trail, you’ll be met with stunning sights, including Tunnel Cave Falls, a 31-foot waterfall that pours out of a cave! For more information, click here.
5. Dry Creek Scenic Area (Booneville)
It should come as no surprise that Dry Creek Scenic Area is brimming with scenic sights. (It is a scenic area, after all.) However, nothing can prepare you for the breathtaking beauty that awaits. From overlooks and sandstone bluffs to a seasonal stream and secluded forest, the 6,310-acre scenic area’s got it all! For more information, click

6. Hemmed-in-Hollow Falls (Compton)
No list of Arkansas adventures would be complete without a mention of Hemmed-in-Hollow Falls. At nearly 210 feet, it’s not only the tallest waterfall in Arkansas, but it’s also tallest waterfall between The Rockies and Appalachians. A 5-mile out-and-back trail leads to the stunning cascade. Rated as hard, the trail isn’t for everybody, and that’s okay because it’s not the only way to access Hemmed-in-Hollow Falls. The waterfall can also be reached by floating the upper Buffalo River. 7. Devils Canyon Scenic Area (near Mulberry)
Located within the the Ozark National Forest, this scenic area is practically overflowing with natural beauty, including huge rock formations and two waterfalls – one of which is at least 60 feet tall. You can easily explore the scenic area via a 4.6-mile loop trail. Prepare to put forth some effort – the trail is rated as moderate. For more information, click here.
