Mother Nature has blessed Arizona with many incredible things: the nation’s largest canyon, awe-inspiring waterfalls, and...a natural water park? That’s right! Slide Rock State Park in Sedona boasts a natural water slide in Arizona that formed all by itself - absolutely no human intervention. It’s the perfect summertime family adventure!
Nestled in the heart of Oak Creek Canyon, Slide Rock State Park is a 43-acre historic apple farm dating back to the Homestead Act in 1910.
It was one of the area's first tourist attractions, with rustic cabins and its namesake natural water slide in Sedona, Arizona drawing visitors from all corners of the state.
Sedona's characteristic red rocks tower on either side of Oak Creek, allowing for its swift flow through the narrow canyon.
This geological phenomenon is what creates the natural water slide in Sedona, Arizona: an 80-foot-long natural wonder that puts any water park ride to shame.
First, you'll climb a set of natural stairs carved from the rock walls themselves.
This leads to where the slide takes off from, much like steps leading to a diving board.
Upon reaching the slide, you'll be greeted by dozens of other visitors soaring down its gradual yet exhilarating decline.
Algae coats the sandstone floor, providing enough lubrication for riders to slip along without an inner tube.
Get ready to make a big splash!
The Sedona Arizona natural water slide dumps riders into a giant pool, sending an invigorating rush of freshwater shooting up into the air.
