One of the best state parks in Arizona, Cattail Cove State Park, also happens to be among the most little-known state parks you'll ever visit. This waterfront paradise near Lake Havasu City boasts white sand beaches, a crystal-clear lake, hiking trails, and plenty of campsites, making it an ideal warm-weather destination. The best part? You'll practically have one of the best hidden gems in Arizona all to yourself.
Welcome to Cattail Cove State Park, a little-known slice of paradise hiding right here in Arizona.
Located along beautiful Lake Havasu, this 2,000-acre waterfront oasis offers tons of warm-weather activities for all ages.
Watersports are a big deal here. Set sail in your own watercraft or rent a kayak or paddleboard from the park.
Nothing beats sailing the open waters without a care in the world, perhaps even casting a line and waiting for bass, catfish, bluegill, and crappie to bite down.
There is a designated swimming area adjacent to a white sand beach and swimming is also allowed all along the shoreline.
Six hiking trails meander through the park, ranging in length from over one-tenth of a mile to more than three miles. All of them offer incredible views!
There are 61 campsites available, plus additional primitive, boat-in campsites. Both tents and RVs are allowed, and amenities at the developed campground include electricity and water, amp service, picnic tables, and firepits. Amenities at the boat-in sites include stand-up BBQ grills, picnic tables, and access to pit toilets.
No matter how you choose to enjoy Cattail Cove State Park, the sheer solitude you'll experience will keep you coming back again and again. The sunsets are out-of-this-world!
