Natural foods and animals both hold a special place in every Arizonian's heart, so why not combine the two? Visit Shamrock Farms just outside of Phoenix to pet adorable cows and indulge in a heaping scoop of homemade ice cream. Is there a better way to spend a day out in the country?
Schools, families, and anyone else who loves milk will have a blast at Shamrock Farms. Education, fun, and deliciousness all combine to make this tour one you won't soon forget.
An open-air tram shuttles visitors around the property, providing a firsthand look at everything that goes into working dairy farms. The hour-long tour is packed with fun activities, so even the antsiest kids will be fascinated from start to finish.
Little ones absolutely adore feeding and petting the cows. They're all sweet-as-can-be, so no need to fear getting close!
Though not part of the tour, you can't pass up the museum. With captivating information about Shamrock's history and the beautiful animals you just met, it's a hidden gem begging to be explored.
You'll also get to see how the dairy business has evolved over time. From packaging to ingredients and everything in between, you'll be blown away at the revolutionary changes it's gone through.
Before heading out, stop by Roxie's Gift Shop & Ice Cream Parlor for souvenirs and a heaping scoopful of a frozen dairy dessert. Made on-site with milk from the farm's very own cows, this beats anything you’ll ever find at the grocery store.
We almost forgot to mention the giant snowy slide! Throughout December, over 15 tons of snow cover the farm in its annual Joy to the Herd celebration.

Shamrock Farms isn't hard to find... if you have directions, that is. While its true address is 40034 West Clayton Rd., Stanfield, AZ 85172, plugging this into a GPS or map app tends to lead you in the wrong direction. Luckily, Shamrock Farms provides much better driving directions (divided by where you're coming from) on its website here.
Have you ever been to Shamrock Farms? What flavor of ice cream did you try? Here's another unique farm in Arizona we think you'd love to visit.
