Looking for an opportunity to unwind and escape into paradise? You don’t need to plan a trip to an exotic locale! Arizona is home to some lovely bed and breakfast inns, glampgrounds, and resorts, and some pretty amazing guest ranches, also known as dude ranches. Today, we’re going to take a look at one guest ranch that is the perfect spot for a weekend getaway.
This is El Rancho Robles Guest Ranch, a historic ranch in Oracle that sits near the foothills of the Santa Catalina Mountains.
The guest ranch first opened in 1930, during a time when Westerns were gaining popularity and showing off the beauty of the West.
While many other ranches showed off a romanticized vision of a working ranch, El Rancho Robles focused on relaxation and being able to fully embrace the natural surroundings.
The ranch continues to offer this calm, leisurely retreat with beautiful grounds that are the perfect spot to relax with a cup of coffee.
The rooms here range from a simple, cozy spot to rest your head to spacious casitas with room for cooking, dining, and entertaining.
When you’re in the area, be sure to check out Biosphere 2, an environment experimental facility from the 1990s.
You can read details about Biosphere 2 in one of our previous articles!
If you want to be active and get your heart rate pumping, you can go for a ride on a zipline nearby.
Check out information on Arizona Zipline Adventures here.
Or, for a quieter experience that takes you into nature, check out Oracle State Park, a wildlife refuge.
And to fuel up more adventures in the area, you can dine at any of the fantastic restaurants around town!
A couple of suggestions include Casa Rivera’s Taco Express and the Oracle Patio Cafe.
Who wouldn't want to relax for a weekend with this as a backdrop?
