Do you feel like going on an adventure this weekend? The good news is that you’ll find plenty of opportunities for adventure here in the Grand Canyon State! Plus, our state is home to an impressive number of hiking trails that will take you to see the many ways Arizona is beautiful and unique. Let’s take a look at eight easy hikes in Arizona that are short and yet will lead you to some incredible places.

1. Aspen Loop Trail, Flagstaff

Looking for a fairly easy trail to help you get adjusted to the elevation in Flagstaff? Check out this trail (which is also known as the Aspen Nature Trail) near the San Francisco Peaks. It offers pretty views throughout the year but it definitely comes alive in the fall when the aspens scattered around the area turn a golden yellow. Trail length: 2.5 miles round-trip

2. Cliff Spring Trail at Grand Canyon National Park

The Grand Canyon is home to tons of trails, but if you’re looking for an easy one that few others may set their eyes on, try this short trail at the North Rim. You’ll get some fantastic views and the end of the trail will take you to Cliff Spring. Depending on who you ask, there are multiple distances given for this trail, ranging from 0.5 miles to 1.4 miles; however, the National Park lists the trail as just one mile long.

3. Keyhole Sink Trail, Williams

We absolutely love this little hidden gem sitting just outside Williams on Route 66, and one visit here will tell you why. A small canyon, a seasonal waterfall, petroglyphs, and the hike on the short, unpaved path all make this an ideal little stop while on the road. Trail length: 1.75 miles round-trip

4. Lower Dwelling at Tonto National Monument

One of two hikes you can take at this central Arizona park, the hike to lower ancient cliff dwellings is a short one that is perfect for a quick day trip. The trail is paved and you’ll get to see both beautiful desert views and explore the dwelling. Trail length: 0.9 miles round-trip

5. Marshall Gulch Trail, Summerhaven

Now that it’s spring, access to this trail has opened up and it’s one pretty sight! Marshall Gulch is located in the Santa Catalina Mountains on the way up to Mount Lemmon. You’ll love checking out this trail for the little creek that flows through, the towering trees, and boulders all around. Trail length: 2.4 miles round-trip

6. Massai Point Nature Trail at Chiricahua National Monument

Located in southeastern Arizona, about two hours east of Tucson, Massai Point offers one truly spectacular view. On the trail, you’ll learn about the area’s natural history and get a jaw-dropping view of the hoodoos here in the Chiricahua Mountains. Trail length: 0.5 miles round-trip

7. Red Rock Crossing, Sedona

When people think of iconic views in Sedona, this one definitely sits at the top of the list. Red Rock Crossing is a short and easy trail that will take you to see Cathedral Rock and Oak Creek at the Crescent Moon picnic area. Trail length: 1.1 miles round-trip

8. Treasure Loop Trail at Lost Dutchman State Park

Lost Dutchman State Park is full of beautiful views and trails of all lengths but we like this fairly short one that leads you through the beauty of the Sonoran Desert sitting just below the rugged Superstition Mountains. Trail length: 2.4 miles round-trip
