As you approach, you will be in awe at the grandeur of Holgate Glacier. It is one of the smaller glaciers in the park, but it is continually calving and always a great stop on a glacier tour.
The scene is surprisingly peaceful and quiet, with the constant crash of ice chunks falling into the sea in a process called "glacial calving". The glacier continually loses snow into the ocean.
