For anyone who enjoys exploring the outdoors, especially by hiking, Alabama is a great place to be. With such a variety of hiking destinations available throughout the state, the Sipsey Wilderness, which covers approximately 25,000 acres of North Alabama's William B. Bankhead National Forest, is one of Alabama's top hiking destinations. There are many trails located within the Sipsey Wilderness, and we've include seven of the best ones below.

1. Borden Creek Hiking Trail
The Borden Creek Hiking Trail is a 4.9-mile, out-and-back trail that features a beautiful waterfall. Because it has a moderate rating, it's a great trail for most skill levels. It's also accessible year-round. Click here for more pictures and information.
2. Big Tree Short Cut Loop and Needles Eye
Big Tree Short Cut Loop and Needles Eye is an 8-mile loop trail that also features a beautiful waterfall. In addition to hiking, this scenic trail is also used for backpacking and camping. 3. Parker Falls Trail
The Parker Falls Trail is a 1.7-mile, out-and-back trail that features Parker Falls, one of North Alabama's most beautiful hidden waterfalls. It's accessible year-round and has a moderate rating, which means it's great for most skilled hikers. Click here for more pictures and information.
4. Sipsey Trail 206 to Needles Eye
The Sipsey Trail 206 To Needles Eye is a 5.9 mile, out-and-back trail with a moderate rating, so it's perfect for most skill levels. This year-round hiking trail features a river and is also used for bird watching, camping, and nature trips. Click here for more pictures and information.
5. Sipsey Wilderness Trail System
The Sipsey Wilderness Trail System is a 36-mile loop trail with a difficult rating, so it's best for skilled hikers. This scenic trail, which features a river and lots of wild flowers, is perfect for exploring from March to October. Click here for more pictures and information.
6. White Falls
