1. Little River Falls
Little River Falls is located within the Little River Canyon National Preserve in Fort Payne, Alabama. It's a favorite swimming spot among locals and visitors alike, and it receives swimmers of all ages each summer who want to take a dip under the falls.
2. The Blue Hole
The Blue Hole is a popular swimming spot that's tucked away inside Turkey Creek Nature Preserve in Pinson, Alabama. This waterfall-fed pool is one of Alabama's bluest bodies of water and you'll want to visit it before summer ends.
3. Mardis Mill Falls
Mardis Mill Falls, which is also known as Graves Falls, is a 15-foot waterfall that's located near Oneonta, Alabama. The pool below this waterfall is popular among swimmers of all ages. This waterfall-fed pool is also a well-known spot among photographers. Mardis Mill Falls is the perfect spot for a summer day trip.
4. Martha's Falls (Hippie Hole)
Martha's Falls, best known as Hippie Hole, is located within the Little River Canyon National Preserve in Fort Payne, Alabama. Each summer, people of all ages meet at this natural pool to have a fun-filled day. Over the years, Martha's Falls has become a favorite summer destination for families not just in Alabama, but all over the Southeast.
5. Kinlock Falls
Kinlock Falls is a popular waterfall that's hidden within North Alabama's William B. Bankhead National Forest. This relaxing waterfall has a drop of approximately 15 feet, and the large pool at the bottom attracts swimmers from near and far.
6. High Falls
High Falls is located along Town Creek in Geraldine, Alabama and is the centerpiece of High Falls Park. This waterfall plunges 35 feet and sometimes spans approximately 300 feet. Over the years, High Falls has become a popular gathering spot for swimmers. It's also a well-known spot for cliff jumping. Keep in mind, jumping is not recommended. Also, if you visit High Falls to swim, use caution. Its rugged terrain can be dangerous.
7. Devil's Den Falls
Devil's Den Falls is located within Alabama's Cheaha State Park. The pool at the bottom of this waterfall is both large and deep, which attracts numerous swimmers each summer. A trip to Devil's Den Falls is perfect for beating the summer heat.
8. Dismals Canyon
Dismals Canyon is located in Phil Campbell, Alabama and is best known for being one of the few places in the world where dismalites live. Another feature that attracts people to Dismals Canyon is its natural pool, which has been carved out of solid rock by rushing creek water.
9. Cheaha Falls
A hike along the Chinnabee Silent Trail in Cheaha State Park will lead you to Cheaha Falls, which is considered one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the Talladega National Forest. The pool below this waterfall is a popular swimming and wading spot for all ages.
