There are several mountains located throughout the great state of Alabama. While some of them have a much higher elevation than others, most offer lots of beautiful scenery. Listed below are seven Alabama mountains where you'll experience some of the Yellowhammer State's most beautiful scenery.

1. Cheaha Mountain
Cheaha Mountain is located in Clay County and is home to Cheaha State Park, Alabama's oldest state park. With an elevation of 2,407 feet above sea level, this majestic mountain is also the state's highest natural point. There's no denying that Cheaha Mountain offers some of Alabama's most incredible views.
2. Monte Sano Mountain
Monte Sano Mountain is located in Huntsville, Alabama, and is home to Monte Sano State Park. Lots of beautiful scenery can be discovered throughout this state park. Just like Cheaha Mountain, Monte Sano Mountain also offers some pretty incredible views.
3. Lookout Mountain
Lookout Mountain is a mountain ridge that's located in Georgia, Tennessee, and the northeast corner of Alabama. It's home to some of Alabama's most beautiful scenery, including DeKalb County's Little River Canyon and Little River Falls. Lookout Mountain is a definite must-visit any time of the year, especially during the fall season.
4. Sand Mountain
Alabama's Sand Mountain, which is located at the bottom of the Appalachian Mountains, is a sandstone plateau in Marshall County, Alabama. It's also home to Weathington Park, a beautiful park with a breathtaking view of the Tennessee River.
5. Oak Mountain
Oak Mountain is home to the sprawling Oak Mountain State Park in Pelham, Alabama. This state park offers lots of beautiful natural scenery, including Peavine Falls. Peavine Falls, which is 65 feet tall, is one of Alabama's most beautiful, year-round waterfalls.
6. Red Mountain
Red Mountain, which is located in Birmingham, Alabama, is the mountain ridge that divides Shades Valley from Jones Valley. Its main attraction is Red Mountain Park, and it offers a wonderful view of the Magic City's skyline.
7. Talladega Mountains
Alabama's Talladega Mountains are located in Clay, Talladega, and Cleburne Counties. They're situated at the bottom of the Appalachian Mountains and offer the most unforgettable view.
