It's no secret that Alabama boasts many natural wonders. Some of them are even tucked away inside of the state's tiniest towns. Because of this, there are several natural wonders in the Yellowhammer State that many people may not be familiar with. One of them is Neversink Cave Preserve (Neversink Pit), and you can learn all about it below.
Fackler, which has less than 1,000 residents, is located in Jackson County, Alabama.
This tiny Alabama town features one of the state's most incredible natural wonders, Neversink Cave Preserve.
Neversink, which has a top width of 40 feet and a bottom width of 100 feet, is one of the world's most photographed sinkholes. Another feature that makes this natural wonder truly spectacular is its 162-feet drop.
Over the years, thousands of cavers have used their vertical caving skills to explore this sinkhole. In fact, many of them have even explored it multiple times.
In addition to its caving opportunities, Neversink Cave Preserve is also one of Alabama's most beautiful natural wonders. The sinkhole's interior includes fern-covered ledges and stunning, underground waterfalls.
