Alabama is home to many beautiful places that are perfect destinations for anyone who loves nature. While some of these places are very well known, several others aren't, making them true hidden gems. One of these hidden gems is Harvest Square Nature Preserve, and you can learn all about it below.
Harvest Square Nature Preserve is a scenic preserve that's tucked away in the small town of Harvest, Alabama. It's also part of the Land Trust of North Alabama.
Even though this preserve is just over 69 acres in size, it's still a great destination for nature lovers to spend the day.
Visitors of Harvest Square Nature Preserve can enjoy a variety of fun recreational activities, including fishing.
Located within the preserve are also more than two miles of trails for anyone who enjoys hiking. These trails are open from dawn until dusk. Dogs are allowed on them, so be sure to bring your canine companion(s) along for the adventure. Keep in mind that they must be leashed at all times.
Harvest Square Nature Preserve is also home to all kinds of wildflowers. You might also spot a variety of wildlife during your visit, including deer, foxes, raccoons, and more. Don't forget your camera!
And finally, if you're thinking of spending the day at the preserve, don't forget to bring lunch. The preserve's Dale W. Strong Community Pavilion (pictured) is a great spot for a picnic.
