The Chinnabee Silent Trail is located within the beautiful Talladega National Forest and is one of Alabama's top hiking trails.

This scenic, 7.3-mile out-and-back trail has a moderate rating and attracts hikers year-round.
Note: Due to damage from Tropical Storm Zeta, the Chinnabee Silent Trail is currently closed. It's scheduled to reopen on March 1, 2021.
While hiking the Chinnabee Silent Trail, which begins at Lake Chinnabee, you'll encounter lots of natural scenery such as streams, rock outcroppings, and waterfalls. One waterfall in particular is Devil's Den Falls (pictured).
Devil's Den Falls is a secluded waterfall that flows into one of Alabama's most popular swimming holes. It attracts people of all ages from across the state and beyond.
Kids especially love splashing around in this refreshing swimming hole.

To easily reach this swimming hole, you'll hike upstream on the Chinnabee Silent Trail for about half a mile from the Lake Chinnabee Recreation Area's picnic section.
