1. Bellingrath Gardens and Home - Theodore, AL
Bellingrath Gardens and Home is 65 acres and offers year-round beauty. A few unique areas of the gardens include the Bellingrath Rose Garden, Mirror Lake, Live Oak Plaza, and the Great Lawn, which is used to host many annual events. Bellingrath Gardens and Home is located in Theodore, Alabama.
2. Huntsville Botanical Garden - Huntsville, AL
Huntsville Botanical Garden is more than 100 acres and is open year-round. It features the nation's largest seasonal butterfly house and nature center. It also features numerous specialty gardens and nature trails. The two-acre Children's Garden will entertain children for hours. Huntsville Botanical Garden is located in Huntsville and boasts some of the most beautiful sights in the world.
3. Birmingham Botanical Gardens - Birmingham, AL
Birmingham Botanical Gardens is more than 60 acres and is Alabama's largest living museum, with a variety of 12,000+ plants of 1,500 different species. Birmingham Botanical Gardens features 25+ unique gardens and miles of serene paths.
4. Mobile Botanical Gardens - Mobile, AL
Mobile Botanical Gardens is home to the largest collection of plants on the Gulf Coast, and it features 100 acres of cultivated gardens, woodland trails and a longleaf pine forest.
5. Dothan Area Botanical Gardens - Dothan, AL
Dothan Area Botanical Gardens is 50 acres of cultivated gardens, nature trails, beautiful ponds and undeveloped wooded landscape. A few of its main features include the following: Outdoor Classroom, Wedding Garden, Ricketts Hall, Vegetable Garden, Southern Heirloom Garden, Gazebo and LoveGate. Dothan Area Botanical Gardens is located in Dothan.
6. Aldridge Botanical Gardens - Hoover, AL
Aldridge Botanical Gardens is 30 acres and is a popular attraction in the Birmingham area. It showcases a variety of hydrangeas, including the Snowflake Hydrangea, which was patented by Mr. Aldridge. Aldridge Botanical Gardens also features a six-acre lake and a half-mile walking trail, and it's located in Hoover.
7. Fairhope City Rose Garden - Fairhope, AL
Fairhope City Rose Garden, which is located near the Fairhope Municipal Pier, features a lovely fountain and a beautiful rose garden with more than 1,000 bushes and 41 varieties of roses.
8. Arlington Antebellum Home and Gardens - Birmingham, AL
Arlington Antebellum Home and Gardens has 6 acres of landscaped gardens and is a popular venue for a variety of events. Arlington Antebellum Home and Gardens is located in Birmingham.
9. Ave Maria Grotto - Cullman, AL
Ave Maria Grotto isn't your typical flower garden. It's a beautifully landscaped, four-acre park that provides a garden setting for 125 miniature reproductions of famous historic buildings and shrines. This garden truly is a MAGICAL place! Ave Maria Grotto is located in Cullman.
10. Jasmine Hill Gardens - Wetumpka, AL
Editor's Note: Jasmine Hill Gardens is unfortunately permanently closed.Jasmine Hill Gardens is 20 acres and offers year-round beauty. The gardens were established during the 1930s and feature a collection of Greek statuary. Jasmine Hill Gardens has been referred to as "Alabama's little corner of Greece" and it's located at 3001 Jasmine Hill Rd, Wetumpka, AL 36093.
