It isn’t exactly difficult to find a remote restaurant in Montana. From the infamous Grizzly Bar to the onsite dining spots at our lodges and resorts, having a quiet meal here is simply a way of life. But if you want to be able to see stunning scenery in every direction while enjoying savory BBQ and live music, look no further than Gallatin Riverhouse Grill in Big Sky.
The story of Gallatin Riverhouse Grill begins with a friendship.
Kyle and Greg both worked at this establishment in 2004 when it was the Half Moon Saloon. When it closed, they sought employment elsewhere, but they always dreamed of owning the amazing venue and putting their own spin on it. In 2013, they made that dream a reality.
The menu here is phenomenal.
You’ll find appetizers, burgers, BBQ sandwiches and massive BBQ entrees here. Their ribs are said to be the best outside of Texas.
But what really makes this place so amazing is the surrounding scenery.
The Gallatin Riverhouse Grill sits right on the river.
You won’t be able to get enough of these views.
Luckily, the cocktail menu here is also excellent, so you can always order another round and extend your visit.
As if this place wasn’t magical enough, they recently added an outdoor music venue complete with fire pits.
You can hear live local country music while you eat your dinner on Thursdays and Saturdays.
The Gallatin Riverhouse Grill is open daily at 3PM.
They’re open late, but you’ll want to get there before the sun goes down if you can.
Don't forget to walk around the property while you're there.
The Gallatin Riverhouse Grill should definitely be added to your Montana restaurant bucket list.
