While we're lucky to get to experience all four seasons here in Montana, we can all admit that winter weather tends to last a little longer than we'd like it to. Our Treasure State summers may be brief, but when they arrive, they are absolutely remarkable. And that's when the little ones in your life might start asking for a trip to Montana's largest water park. If you're still a kid at heart yourself, you'll probably be just as excited.
Big Sky Waterpark is located in Columbia Falls, in the heart of the majestic Rocky Mountains.
This is the largest water park in Montana by far, and there's something for everyone here.
The park features amenities and attractions both in and out of the water.
Whether you need to take a break for a picnic lunch or you have people in your group who would prefer not to get wet at all, you'll be able to keep everyone in your party happy while still having a great time. You can hit the concessions stands for treats or take advantage of the park's public grills.
But if you do like the water, you'll be happy to know that this park features 10 exciting water slides, a huge whirlpool, a kids' activity pool, and so much more.
There's a reason that so many young Montanans ask for this place by name, even though there are other water parks in the state.
Shoot down the seven-story Geronimo Speed Slide or try the invigorating Twister Slides ...
... or, if you dare, try the Shredder Xtreme.
This massive water slide is a blast, but it's definitely extremely fast-paced.
When it's time for a break, enjoy other activities like the climbing wall or mini golf.
Your entire family will have a blast.
The Krazy Kars are also a popular choice, for obvious reasons.
That's one way to dry off after a swim.
Big Sky Waterpark is open from mid-June until the end of August.
Exact dates will depend on the weather, but this is a seasonal attraction you won't want to miss.
