While there certainly isn't an enormous Amish population in Montana, there are more than you might think -- and that means we have some fantastic Amish markets. The trick is knowing where to find them. You won't find any well-known Amish counties like there are in the Midwest, but they exist. And if you happen to find yourself in Central Montana, you should make the drive to Big Sky Grocery and stock up on everything you can.
Big Sky Grocery is located in the tiny town of Moore in Fergus County.
Less than 200 people call Moore home. In fact, most Montanans don't even know it exists.
Big Sky Grocery is a family-owned, Amish-run market.
And whether you live in the area or you're just passing through, you owe it to yourself to check it out.
In some ways, Big Sky Grocery seems like an ordinary mom-and-pop grocery store.
From fresh produce to locally raised meats, you'll find all kinds of groceries and staples on the shelves.
But if you look closer, you'll notice an abundance of homemade goods rocking the Big Sky Grocery label.
This is how you know it's as fresh and authentic as it gets.
This store is a smorgasbord of amazing Amish-made products, food, specialty items, and so much more.
From homemade preserves to handmade clocks, you'll find a little bit of everything here.
Big Sky Grocery even sells furniture -- and it's as durable as it gets.
It's really no wonder the store is always bustling with activity.
Big Sky Grocery is open Monday - Friday from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
It's well worth the drive to come check out the unique array of products here. Stock up, because it's easy to become addicted to some of them.
