1. Pizza Head
Scott Sandler started Pizza Head with the idea of serving a really great vegetarian 20-inch New York style pizza. He combined this idea with a DIY service model and a jukebox that plays all punk music. All meats here are vegan and they offer a vegan cashew cheese too. 2. Epic Pizza and Subs
To be truly epic you have to do things a little differently. In St. Louis that means topping a pizza with buffalo milk mozzarella. 3. Pi Pizzeria
Going for depth, Pi Pizzeria has perfected the deep dish pizza pie. They serve a unique cornmeal crust that is buttery, light, and designed to hold all of your favorite toppings. They serve thin crust pizza too, created with the same amazing cornmeal dough as the deep dish. There are three locations in St. Louis. 4. Anthonino's Taverna
An Italian restaurant on "The Hill" in St. Louis is expected. An Italian restaurant with a Greek flare, serving delicious pizzas topped with Feta is an amazing surprise. 5. Cecil Whittaker's Pizzeria
Cecil Whittakers Pizzeria, because no St. Louis pizza bucket list would be complete without a slice of our best thin crust pizza. Since 1983 Cecil Whittaker's has been creating cracker-thin pizza, topped in a five cheese house blend of Provel cheese. The pies are cut into squares, of course. There are 14 locations in the St. Louis area. The first pizzeria opened in South County, and is still serving outstanding pizza 34 years later.
