Missouri is home to some pretty amazing state parks. A few of the best ones include Johnson's Shut-Ins, Roaring River, and Onondaga Cave, just to name a few. But there’s a new one in town that you’ll definitely want to visit. With lots of incredible amenities, it’ll almost feel like you’re staying at a resort. The newest state park in Missouri, Echo Bluff State Park, is full of astonishing sights. Let’s explore this amazing park and all it has to offer.
Echo Bluff State Park is located just half of a mile from the Current River in Eminence.
The park is surrounded by towering bluffs, acres of forestry, and the Sinking Creek.
In the summer, visitors splash around in the creek or in the Current River. To enjoy a relaxing float trip, rent a kayak or a canoe.
For the kids, there's a fun nature playground at the park.
It's a blast!
There's also a beautiful spring inside the park that's a popular spot among guests.
Explore the inside of a historic riding stable.
Before it was Echo Bluff State Park, this area of land was the site of Camp Zoe, a former campground and venue for music festivals. Today, the only thing left from the festival and private campground is the rustic riding stable.
Planning to spend the night? You have quite a few options.
The Timbuktu campground features 12 walk-in sites and 60 full-service sites. The walk-in sites tend to be a bit more secluded and are shaded by the forest.
The entire Timbuktu Campground is loaded with amenities.
If you plan on bringing an RV, there are water, electric, and pump-out services at all of the 60 full-service campsites. Additionally, the entire park is equipped with complimentary Wi-Fi. Bathrooms are strategically placed throughout the park to make your stay even more comfortable and convenient.
For a more comfortable night's stay, spend the night in one of the stacked cabins.
Cozy much? Oh yes.
This incredible park is one of the best places to go camping in Missouri.
For large families or groups, there are nine fully furnished cabins to stay at. All of the cabins include a kitchen, flat screen TV, an outdoor deck and gas grill and a fireplace. Two-bedroom, three-bedroom and four-bedroom cabins are available for reservation.
For breathtaking views of the park, spend the night at the Betty Lea Lodge.
The park lodge provides 16 cozy guest rooms and four suites, each with a balcony to enjoy stunning views of the park.
With the same amenities offered at the cabins plus 24-hour front desk service, this is definitely a step above "glamping."
Cook your own meal on the fire or dine in style at Creekside Grill.
When I think of camping at a state park, grilling hot dogs on the fire, or heating up a pot of chili comes to mind. If that doesn't tickle your fancy, you can enjoy a warm meal at the park's very own restaurant, The Creekside Grill. The casual eatery is located inside the lodge and serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day.
When it comes to natural beauty, luxurious accommodation and fun things to do, this new state park succeeds in all areas.
Miles of hiking trails, cabins and campgrounds, a beautiful creek and river, and breathtaking views are just a few of the things that make this new park simply incredible.
