Start your visit to the cozy 68-acre Arnold City Park with a leisurely stroll along the 3.7-mile River Loop Trail, which usually takes around an hour or so to complete.
While out-of-towners might not be familiar with Arnold Park, locals certainly are, and it can get quite busy. Expect to run into other walkers, hikers, and even bikers.
The trailhead to this pretty path is at the back of the park, near a parking lot.
The predominately flat trail provides ample shade, at least in the warmer months, as you wander through wooded areas.
If you're bringing your pup along, keep him leashed. The kid-friendly trail is stroller-accessible.
Although you can complete the walk in around an hour, expect to spend a bit more time on your adventure. Relax on a bench by the eight-acre lake with a tumbling fountain.
Fishing is permitted in the lake.
