2. YJ's Snack Bar - Kansas City

"Snack bar" sounds like the limited candy and chip collection available on an airplane. However, at YJ's, you can enjoy a full breakfast, lunch or dinner. The menu changes daily, so be sure to check their website ahead of time.

3. Cafe Blackadder - Warrensburg

This isn't the typical kind of restaurant fare that you'd expect to find in a college town. Forget about the days of beer and BBQ wings, because at Cafe Blackadder, you'll get to indulge in fantastic farm-fresh meals.

4. Jet's Palace - Hannibal

I don't know what it is about my favorite Chinese restaurants, but the majority of them have the most underwhelming storefronts. But put aside the exterior wall of this spot in Hannibal, and you'll be diving into the most delicious Chinese food in the area.

5. Gyro Paradise - St. Joseph

Tucked away inside a strip mall, Gyro Paradise looks far from exciting. But your taste buds will explode once you try out their authentic Mediterranean cuisine.

6. Martin City Brewing Company - Kansas City

Another brewery that not only specializes in local beer, but also in amazing food. Choose one of their specialty pizzas and then wash it down with a cold brew, or a flight of brews.

7. Adriana's - St. Louis

Adriana's is a small corner shop in St. Louis's Italian neighborhood, referred to by locals as, "The Hill." It appears to be a simple deli shop, but in addition to their unique Italian subs, they also serve a variety of pasta dishes.

8. Tortilleria Perches

Tortilleria Perches is another hidden gem tucked away inside a strip mall. From the outside, it doesn't look like anything special, but locals can tell you firsthand, that this is the best Mexican food in the city.

9. A Slice of Pie - Rolla

Both the interior and the exterior design are a bit outdated, but you can't not fall in love with this place. A Slice of Pie is located right off of Route 66 and serves the best pies in all of Missouri.
