Three cheers for spring! Who’s been counting down the days of spring for quite some time – maybe even since the start of winter? The return of spring means blossoming flowers, leaves on the trees filled with singing birds, and longer days. Spring in Missouri, in fact, might just be the most beautiful time of the year.
1. Flowers blossoming at the Missouri Botanical Garden are a sure sign that spring is in the air. Did you know that the Rose Garden at the Missouri Botanical Garden boasts 1,500 different plants across 250 different species?
2. Spring means the return of the cherry blossoms. One of the Missouri towns best known for its cherry blossom trees is the charming Marshfield.
3. Alley Spring is simply breathtaking all year around. However, when the lush green of the trees and grass returns in the spring, its beauty rises to a whole new level.
4. Sunsets at Johnson’s Shut-Ins State Park are simply spellbinding, especially in the spring. For more picture-perfect spring scenes, set off on the Johnson’s Shut-Ins State Park Trail.
5. Get outside; breathe in the fresh air, and admire the blooming wildflowers at Cuivre River State Park near Troy. The state park features hiking trails and picnic pavilions. too.
6. Fields of wildflowers paint the landscape of the Ozarks every spring. Another popular spot to admire the wildflowers is Mastodon State Historic Site in Imperial.
7. Nothing quite compares to a spring sunset, with shades of pink and purples painting the sky, behind Table Rock Lake. Table Rock Lake is an idyllic spot for boating, fishing, and swimming.
8. We never have to travel far to admire the blossoming flowers and to drink in the fresh air of spring. A stroll through the neighborhood, like in Hermann, promises plenty of natural beauty.
9. Sunlight peeks through the trees along the Katy Railroad, just one of the many sights you’ll see along the Katy Trail. Spanning 240 miles, the Katy Trail holds distinction as the longest recreational rail-trail in the United States.
10. Spring has arrived in Columbia. The water flows along Flat Branch Creek; the flowers are blooming; and the skies are blue. Does it get any prettier?
