Lions and tigers and… a whole lot of other animals reside at Cedarhill Animal Sanctuary in Mississippi. Most people don’t know about the sanctuary or its menagerie of exotic and domestic animals, and that probably has something to do with the fact that it’s in a small town and closed to the public. However, just because you can’t visit that doesn’t mean you can’t do your part to help (and even bond with) the residents of the exotic animal rescue and pet sanctuary.
Cedarhill Animal Sanctuary is in Caledonia, a small town in Lowndes County.
Today, the facility is home to a menagerie of animals, including lions, tigers, bobcats, house cats, dogs, horses, and more.
A true sanctuary, Cedarhill is committed to the rescue of both domestic and exotic animals in need.
Many of the animals who reside at the sanctuary have been abused, neglected, forgotten about, and cast away.
The sanctuary provides a safe haven for the animals - along with plenty of space for running, playing, swimming, and… doing arts and crafts.
As you can imagine, operating an animal rescue isn’t cheap.
The sanctuary’s got to cover vet bills, staffing costs, supplies, and upkeep.
And because Cedarhill is closed to the public, it doesn’t quality for government funding, which means it is run entirely on donations.
In addition to one-time donations, the sanctuary offers the option of sponsoring an animal. By becoming a sponsor, you’ll get photos and updates on the animal of your choice.
Don't forget, even though you can't visit this exotic animal rescue and pet sanctuary, you can still join its quest to save the lives of animals. For more info on ways to get involved, check out the Cedarhill Animal Sanctuary website. Have any questions? Give the sanctuary a call at (662) 356-6636.
