Do you need to relax? Are you craving some fun? Whatever it is you’re looking for, Bay Springs Lake is the cure! Its clear waters and sandy shorelines are perfect for everything from sunbathing and swimming to fishing and camping. Come along as we dive right in!
Bay Springs Lake is a reservoir on the Tenn-Tom Waterway.
It stretches nearly 9 miles through two both Tishomingo and Prentiss counties.
One of the state’s best-kept secrets, it is often overshadowed by the nearby Pickwick Lake.
(Pickwick Lake is found inside J.P. Coleman State Park).
Bay Springs Lake isn’t tiny, though.
It’s nearly 7,000 acres, which means there's plenty of space for all sorts of water-related fun.
The lake’s clear waters are just right for swimming, fishing, paddling, and boating.
Camping is another pastime that brings people here.
Quite a few recreation areas surround Bay Springs Lake, making it easy to enjoy its pristine waters.
Two of the most popular recreation areas are Piney Grove and Old Bridge Beach Recreation Areas.
At Piney Grove Recreation Area, you'll find a sandy beach, campground, fishing pier, and more.
Old Bridge Beach Recreation Area is a great place to spend a summer day. In addition to a white sand beach, it features a playground, fishing pier, picnic tables, grills, volleyball court, and more.
Between its untouched beauty and low-key reputation, Bay Springs Lake is like a hidden paradise. And there's nothing a trip to paradise can't fix! Bay Springs Lake is managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. For more information, call (662) 423-1287 or visit the Corps Facebook page.
