Usually, when you think of a water park, you think of slides, rides, and crowds. But, that’s not always the case. Mississippi is home to several natural water parks, like Bogue Chitto Water Park. Offering just as much fun as traditional water parks – minus hoards of people – it’s the perfect place to beat the summer heat.
One visit to Bogue Chitto Water Park in McComb, and it’s sure to become a new favorite.
The 230-acre park is brimming with amenities.
A camper’s delight, it has RV campsites, a primitive campground, and several cabins.
The park also has picnic tables, grills, nature trails, a boat ramp, and bathhouses.
But the real highlight of the park is its namesake, the Bogue Chitto River.
The river’s pristine, slow-moving waters make it a top choice for swimming, canoeing, and tubing.
Parkgoers can easily access the river.
And though the park doesn’t rent canoes and tubes, there’s an outfitter right by the park.
The nearby Sweetwater Canoe and Tubing has everything needed for a fun, relaxing float down the river.
The outfitter even offers a variety of trip lengths, so there’s a float for everyone!
