First, it's time to head out to the cliffs for some cragging.
The rock climbing area at Blue Mounds State Park is just north of Luverne at the southernmost end of the park itself.

You access it from outside the park - if you head into Blue Mounds' main entrance, you won't be able to reach it by vehicle.
After a good day of scrambling, head back into town to quench your thirst at Take 16 Brewing and stretch your legs with a walk around Luverne.

As you enter, you'll pass the prairielands where several dozen of the state's bison herd roam.

Driving along the bison area, you'll eventually reach the parking lot for the tipi sites - it'll be on your left.

Look for a cart - the sites are cart-in - to use to haul your gear to your tipi.
Once you're all set up, start a fire, kick back, and enjoy a night beneath the stars.

The next day, take some time to explore the rest of Blue Mounds State Park.

It's a real gem in the state park system. A hike along the moderate Cliffline Trail is a great way to experience much of what the park has to offer.
