Chances are, if you've been to Duluth you probably love Duluth. And what's not to love? There's Lake Superior, gorgeous trails and overlooks, and plenty of shopping and restaurants. Basically, Duluth has something for everyone - especially those who love unique events. Perhaps the most unique of all? The Duluth Balloon Festival that happens in Bayfront Festival Park every year. Visit for food, fun, and spectacular hot air balloons.
Bayfront Festival Park is a beautiful spot right on Lake Superior. In between events, you can watch the waves lap the shore.
But you might not have much time to admire the lake. The Duluth Balloon Festival has tons to see and do. Lots of vendors will gather, including a Craft Brew Village. What could be better?
There are also plenty of non-balloon events, like concerts, kite flying, and a color run.
The main event, however, is definitely the balloons.
Visitors to the Duluth Balloon Festival will have a chance to watch the balloons inflate.
Then, as long as weather conditions are right, the balloons launch.
Whether you watch from Bayfield Park or high on the hill, the launch is a truly gorgeous sight.
Attendees will also have the chance to take a tethered balloon ride. Do you dare?
Other special balloon events include the ring of fire, in which each balloon lights in a spectacular nighttime display.
The best part of the Duluth Balloon Festival? It's always completely free!
Mark your calendar! The 2017 Duluth Balloon Festival will occur on September 15-17. Bayfield Festival Park is located at 650 Harbor Drive in Duluth.
