Though it is known for its pick-your-own apples and its apple pies (available during the fall season!), many people don’t know that this orchard is also a wonderful place to get all things strawberry. They have a market in their barn where you can get fresh produce, baked goods, and more! Pine Tree Apple Orchard is a family-owned orchard in White Bear Lake, Minnesota. Being in the Twin Cities metro area, it’s an easy place to check out for most Minnesotans.
The orchard - established as a 25-acre orchard in 1904 - now stretches across more than 300 acres. It’s a popular place to go in the fall during apple season. The orchard grows many different varieties, which you can buy in their apple barn from November to March.
But this orchard has more than apples! They also grow strawberries. In the summertime - from June until early July - visitors can stop in to pick their own strawberries. Fill a box up with tasty berries to take home and enjoy. They’ll taste even better knowing you’ve picked them yourself!
If that’s not your thing, you can also purchase fresh strawberries that are picked for you. They’ll be just as delicious, but with a little less effort. When strawberry season is over, you can usually buy frozen strawberries from the season in the barn.
The fresh produce is great, and it makes Pine Tree Apple Orchard well worth visiting. But this spot has another trick up its sleeve: its bakery. It’s popular in the fall and winter months for fantastic apple pies, apple cider doughnuts, pumpkin pies, and more.
