There are times when the constant buzzing and pinging of phones and tablets and laptops with email alerts, social media notifications, and message after message after message becomes... just too much. I know I can definitely get overwhelmed from being constantly connected, and while a hike in the Land of 10,000 Lakes can certainly take the edge off, sometimes the feeling is a little more acute and I need to get away from it all for a couple days... or more. For an extended digital detox in Minnesota, you can't really beat the Boundary Waters, but you know, sometimes a weekend at a cabin in the woods is all you need to to do the trick. One Airbnb I found that's perfect for tuning out is perched on a bluff in the Driftless Area, near Dakota, MN. Spring Hollow Cabin is a Bluff Country gem and the perfect place to take a break from all the noise of the modern world for a few days.

This two-bedroom, one-bath cabin can sleep up to four in a main-level queen bedroom and a pair of twin beds in the loft. You'll find plenty of space to relax near the fire, read a book, play some board games, and do the biggest jigsaw puzzle you have time for.

Or, you can simply sit on the porch with a cup of coffee or tea - or your favorite adult beverage - and enjoy the Bluff Country views. Speaking of which, Great River Bluffs State Park, with all its fantastic (often uncrowded) hiking trails and stunning Mississippi River views, is only minutes away from the cabin. If you prefer the water, a five-minute drive will get you down to the Mississippi River, itself. This gorgeous stretch of the valley is home to some of the highest bluffs along the river's entire run. All of this, from the river to the park to the cabin, itself, is encompassed within the Richard J. Dorer Memorial Hardwood State Forest, where you can also find plenty of nearby recreational opportunities.

This geodesic dome Airbnb is a beautiful stay on Minnesota's North Shore. It's near the small town of Tofte, with views of the lake beyond the trees in the distance. Needless to say, this Airbnb comes with beautiful surroundings.

The dome itself is lovely. Big window panels line the wall that faces the lake. There's a small seating area where you can enjoy the scenery. Bring a book or a craft to relax with, or simply enjoy the peace and quiet. If you visit in winter, you'll enjoy cozying up next to the fireplace.
