If you’re hunting for an outdoor adventure that won’t leave you feeling completely exhausted, there’s nothing more ideal than a leisurely hike among shaded beauty. Michigan is home to a seemingly endless array of hiking destinations, from beachfront trails to marvelous meadow boardwalks. There’s one easy hiking spot here in the Great Lakes State that will take the whole family on a fun excursion.
Warren Woods Trail is located within Warren Woods State Park, which can be accessed via Elm Valley Road near the community of Three Oaks.
The state park itself houses more than 300 breathtaking acres of forested splendor to discover. When you opt to visit, you’ll quickly discover a sense of peace.
At the heart of the park is Warren Woods Trail, which consists of a 1.6-mile round-trip loop through all sorts of greenery and natural wonder. There’s much to love.
While the path is not marked, its well-traversed condition makes it easy to spot. During warm summer months, you’ll appreciate plenty of cool shade here.
Along your stroll, be sure to stop and appreciate the towering trees that make Warren Woods Trail so special. Sugar maples and beech trees steal the show.
You’ll even find a gorgeous, serene overlook along the trail that offers stunning views of the Galien River. Snap a few photos before continuing along the pathway.
After looping around and venturing back toward the trailhead, settle in at one of the on-site picnic tables for a quick outdoor lunch. It doesn’t get much better than this.
