Like it or not, McDonald’s is as American as apple pie. The legendary fast food chain has set up shop all over the world, but there’s one little storefront for fast food in Massachusetts that’s far more unique than most. While the title of the first McDonald's in Massachusetts goes to a location in Pittsfield, this one retains a lot of old-fashioned style. Here’s a peek inside this surprisingly retro and unique McDonald’s store in Fairhaven.
McDonald’s is a classic fast food chain that opened its first store in California in the late 1930s, but most of the global chain’s restaurants have been modernized since the burger shop’s early days. Most…except this spot in Fairhaven.
This vintage McDonald’s still retains all the old-school fun of its 1950s heyday. The floors are tiled in an arresting black and white checkered pattern, and the booths are made of slippery vinyl. If you look closely, you’ll see that the walls are adorned with retro records and other cool memorabilia.
Guests can enjoy dining under the funky glow of pink and blue neon lights while listening to classic and contemporary tracks pumped from the store’s real jukebox. It’s the perfect place to go for a quick bite in a truly unique atmosphere.
Of course, the menu at this McDonald’s will be familiar to anyone who frequents the burger chain. Expect all the old standbys like cheeseburgers, fries, apple pie, and milkshakes. You can also order up a salad or egg sandwich, depending on the time of day and your mood.
You won’t be able to mistake the restaurant’s classic exterior, either. This shop still sports the legendary Golden Arches on its roof, making it a great place for a photo opportunity. Wear your best poodle skirt and head to this unique McDonald’s for a cheap and memorable meal.
It's sure to have all of the McDonald's favorites you know and love!
