Are you looking for a unique place to take the kids, a place where they can learn while having fun? Located within the city of Worcester is the EcoTarium, an incredible museum where families can learn about science and nature in both indoor and outdoor exhibits. Let's have a look.
Located in the Central Massachusetts city of Worcester, the EcoTarium provides a world of learning adventure for kids and adults alike. Families will enjoy both indoor and outdoor interactive exhibits that make learning fun!
Inside the museum, you'll find three floors of hands-on science exhibits, many of which are permanent at the museum. A couple of traveling exhibits are featured as well.
Kids will have fun exploring the indoor displays as they learn about science. There's an incredibly fun exbibit called The Arctic Next Door: Mount Washington, where visitors can explore the region's weather and even see what the weather is like on top of Mount Washington.
Part of the experience includes a weather tracker, a virtual visit to Mount Washington, a bouldering wall kids can climb while learning about geology, plenty of activity stations, and a hurricane simulator.
The outside of EcoTarium is a whole other world to explore! Children will love seeing the dinosaurs, digging in the sand, creating something in the Nature Art Area, playing on the play structures, and participating in countless other activities. There are so many fun ways to explore the natural world outdoors.
There are plenty of animal exhibits to enjoy as well. The Outdoor Animals & Living Collection includes otters, owls, turtles, and bald eagles. And Animal Corner has native animals like the American porcupine, flying squirrels, and an American kestrel, among others.
Open since 2019, Wild Cat Station is considered one of the largest mountain lion exhibits in the region. It features two mountain lions in a recreated New England habitat.
