There’s a vintage arcade and theme park in Massachusetts that will fill you with memories. While it isn’t as big and flashy as newer theme parks, it has everything you need to enjoy an old-fashioned good time.
Salem Willows Arcade is located in the historic Salem Willows Park. This place is dotted with majestic white willow trees planted in 1801 to provide a stunning shaded walkway through the park.
In the twentieth century it became a popular summer destination for Bostononians. The 1920s saw the park host amazing jazz acts like Duke Ellington, Count Basie and Louis Armstrong.
Today the park is a beautifully vintage recreation area. There are two arcades filled with classic games and new additions, as well as kiddie rides and plenty of food options.
You can try your hand at vintage games like Galahad, Skeeball and Asteroids before hopping on old-fashioned rides such as bumper cars, water boats and a genuine 1905 carousel.
Relax under a number of shaded gazebos and bring your own snacks to enjoy in their picnic areas.
There are three beaches around the park that provide a gorgeous backdrop to all the fun, as well as a great breeze during the summer months. You can enjoy amazing views of Salem Harbor and the North Shore coast from the park.
Stop by the old-fashioned band shell and performance area for family-friendly shows and great musical entertainment. If you feel like getting a bit active, don’t miss the basketball and tennis courts.
With over 35 acres of greenery and entertainment, it would be a shame to overlook this classic Massachusetts amusement spot.
