You'll find Herrington Manor State Park in the Oakland, Maryland area. It's often overshadowed by the other nearby parks, but it shouldn't be.
This unassuming gem has a lot to offer, including year-round log cabin rentals.
There are twenty log cabins onsite and they all include electricity, bathrooms with hot showers, and fully-equipped kitchens. Cabins range in size from fitting two guests, and up to six guests for the larger sizes.
Enjoy a cozy night's sleep, then wake to the sounds of nature as you sip coffee from the front porch.
Then, partake in a scenic hike. Herrington Manor State Park offers 12 miles of trails, including a 5.5-mile trek that connects to the nearby Swallow Falls State Park.
