This sandy spot on Kent Island has an amazing view of the Bay Bridge. You can also hike, bike, or take a dip in the water on a hot day.

3. Battle Creek Cypress Swamp (Prince Frederick)

Walk the winding boardwalk paths, among serene swampland sights. This hidden gem is incredibly unique and full of wonder.

4. Backbone Mountain

Maryland's highest point can be found at Hoye-Crest on Backbone Mountain. Oddly enough, the trail starts in West Virginia but technically ends up in Maryland. The hike to this point is filled with pretty foliage, offering views to remember.

5. Historic London Town & Gardens (Edgewater)

For a secret gardens experience, head to Historic London Town & Gardens. No only is this spot full of enchanting gardens, but it also pays tribute to one of Maryland's oldest Colonial towns. There are even musket firing demonstrations that are perfect for lovers of history.

6. Cylburn Arboretum (Baltimore)

9. Mallows Bay (Nanjemoy)

This fascinating spot is known as Maryland's ship graveyard. Over 230 ships from WW1 rest in the bay, most deemed "unususable." Kayaking or canoeing over the sunken ruins is a surreal experience.
